CARMEN ELENA BARREIRO, HARPIST
WEDDINGS
Carmen Elena
usually follows 5-6
basic steps when
playing music for a
wedding:
1- Prelude Music: or
pre-wedding music is
played for about 20
minutes prior to the
ceremony.
2- Seating of the
families: a special
tune is played when
the parents of the
bridegroom and the
mother of the bride
are escorted to
their places.
3- Processional:
after a short pause
she will start the
music for the bridal
party to make its
entrance. The bridal
party includes the
minister, the
bridesmaids, the
groomsmen and the
flower girls who
immediately precede
the bride. There is
another pause.
4- The Wedding
March: She will
start to play a
wedding march or
melody selected by
the bride to walk
down the aisle.
5- Recessional:
marking the end of
the ceremony, a
joyful melody is
played and the
married couple comes
back down the aisle,
followed by the
attendants, family
members, and
friends.
6- Banquet
(optional): during
the banquet, Carmen
plays romantic
and/or more animated
background music.
Whenever possible,
Carmen Elena will
meet with you for a
consultation. Sound
amplification can be
provided.
